Tile Tape Laid Above Buried Electricity Cables
This marker tape is a UKPN approved tile tape supplied on a 40 metre roll. It is rolled out along a cable trench and laid above the cable before the trench is backfilled, so anyone who digs into the ground later reaches the tape before the cable. It protects low and high voltage electricity cables up to 11kV.
Specifications
| Product type | UKPN approved cable tile tape |
| Width | 200mm |
| Thickness | 2.5mm |
| Roll length | 40 metres |
| Cable rating | Low and high voltage up to 11kV |
Benefits
- UKPN approved, so it meets the specification on distribution network work.
- 200mm width covers the cable and stays over it as the trench is backfilled.
- At 2.5mm the tape takes a spade strike rather than tearing straight through.
- 40 metre roll covers a full trench run without a joint.
Applications
Use this marker tape in any cable trench carrying low or high voltage electricity cable up to 11kV, on distribution network work, site supplies and street lighting circuits. It is laid on the backfill above the cable, not against it, so the tape is what a future excavation meets first.
