Ductile Iron Box for Meter and Multi-Connection Chambers
The 300x300x100 surface box has the largest square opening in this range, at 300 x 300mm over the chamber below. It is a ductile iron casting on the same 100mm frame depth as the two smaller square boxes, so bedding details do not change across a site.

Key Design Features
The cover sits on a non-rocking seating within the frame, which is what stops a casting this size working loose once the ground around it settles, and keeps the cover flush rather than proud of the finished surface. The lifting keyways are closed, so the slots do not become a route for silt into a chamber whose face is otherwise sealed.
Benefits
- Opening gives room to reach in and work on the fitting, not only to operate it.
- Non-rocking seating keeps the widest cover in the range stable in its frame.
- Closed keyways stop silt reaching the fitting through the lift slots.
- Ductile iron keeps the weight manageable for a casting this wide.
- Black coating protects the casting in the ground.
- Square opening suits chambers built to the same footprint on both axes.
Applications
Use it on chambers holding a larger valve, a meter or several connections at once. Where the chamber holds a single small fitting, the 225x225x100 or 150x150x100 box covers it with less disruption to the finished surface and a lighter cover to lift.
